Attorney Thomas L. Erb Jr. was featured in The Daily Record for his work on a high-profile felony case. Erb’s client, a 16-year-old boy, admitted to felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. The boy, along with two others, assaulted two homeless men outside of a downtown church in Wooster. Throughout his hearing, he expressed contrition and remorse, which Erb noted in his defense. Additionally, Erb explained that the boy had no other encounters with the criminal justice system.

The boy was ordered to spend 90 days in juvenile detention and placed on an indefinite period of probation that may last until he reaches the age of 21. He must also pay $50 in restitution to both assault victims and undergo a mental health and substance abuse assessment.

Another boy, who is now 14 years old, was also charged with assault for his role in the assault and ordered to complete a program at a community correctional facility. He must also serve an indefinite probation period up, which may also last until he turns 21. The third individual involved, Richard Luper, is 18 and facing felonious assault and assault charges as well.
